Privacidad y cookies

Privacy and cookies
Eureka keeps only what it needs so that you can create quizzes, play them and see the results. It doesn't sell data, doesn't show advertising and doesn't use tracking cookies.
Who looks after your data
This site (eurekaquiz.io) is the responsibility of whoever administers this installation of Eureka. If you have any questions or want to exercise your rights, write to the contact address provided by the site administrators.
What data we keep and why
- If you create an account: your name, your email address (or a username), your encrypted password (we never store it as it is), your organisation if you provide it and the dates you sign in. These are used so that you can sign in and have your quizzes on any device.
- Your quizzes, reports, groups and stories: what you create and the results of your games and challenges, so that you can use them and look at them.
- If you play: the nickname you choose and your answers in that game. You don't need an account or any personal data to play. The nickname and the answers appear in the report of whoever organises the game.
- Images, audio files and videos you upload: they are stored so that they can be shown in your questions.
- If you create with artificial intelligence: the topic, text, link or photos you send are processed by an AI service (Claude) to write the questions. The same applies to the assistant (improving, reviewing or changing your questions, marking what the group has written, creating a course): only what is needed for that task is sent, never names or email addresses. We don't use it for anything else.
- If you ask a story's tutor to explain a question to you: the question and the answer you chose are sent to the AI, without any of your data. The explanation is kept (without knowing whose query it was) so that it can be given to anyone who has the same query.
- If you ask for a reminder about a challenge: by email, your email address; on your phone, the notification address your browser provides. They are only used to remind you one day and one hour before the challenge closes, and they are deleted when it closes. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
- If you recover your password by email: we send you a link that is valid for one hour and can only be used once; we keep only its fingerprint, not the link.
- Technical logs: the connection address is used for a few minutes to curb abuse (for example, too many attempts to sign in) and is not stored with your account.
How long
For as long as you keep your account, and you can delete any quiz or report whenever you like. If you delete your account, it is deleted at that very moment, together with your quizzes (with their links, stories and challenges) and the reports of your games. If you played in someone else's game, your nickname and your answers stay in their report until that person deletes it: they are never linked to an account. Anything created without an account is kept until whoever created it deletes it. Uploaded images, audio files and videos that are no longer used by anything are deleted automatically after a week. Backups are renewed every day and kept for a week at most.
Who it is shared with
It is not shared with anyone for commercial purposes. The only ones involved are the server where Eureka is hosted and, if you use the AI, the AI service that writes the questions. The images in the free library come from Wikimedia Commons and the animated emojis from Noto (Google), under their open licences.
Your rights
You can view, correct, take away and delete your data yourself from My account (“Download my data” and “Delete my account”). You can also request this by writing to the site's contact. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country (in Spain, the AEPD).
Minors
No personal data is requested to play. Accounts are for people who create and present (teachers, trainers, organisers). If you are under 14, ask an adult to create the account.
Cookies
Eureka only uses what is essential for it to work, which is why we don't ask for your permission with a notice:
- eureka_sesion (technical cookie): keeps your session open if you sign in with your account. It expires after 30 days or when you sign out.
- Browser storage: remembers your preferences (sound, theme, language), your quizzes made without an account and your game session so that you can reconnect. It doesn't leave your device.
- Copy for offline use: if you install Eureka as an app or open stories and courses, your browser keeps a copy of those pages so that they can be opened without an internet connection. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data in your browser.
There are no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies.
